Hand & Wrist

An individual’s hands, wrist, and fingers are prone to multiple types of injuries and overuse.  Our Compassionate Occupational Therapist will focus on rehabilitating and strengthen your hands and fingers.  The treatment goal will be to improve your dexterity, mobility, and decrease pain.

Shoulder

The Shoulder Joint is a ball and socket joint with the most mobility in the body.  The shoulder can be injured by performing manual labor, repetitive motion, and sports.  Arthritis and some disease can cause shoulder pain.  Our compassionate providers will develop a treatment plan and work one on one with you to regain range of motion and reduce pain.  Diagnostic test such as Orthopedic Testing, X-rays or MRI may be necessary for an accurate Diagnosis.

Arthritis

At Horizon OrthoRehab and Diagnostics our goal is to diagnose your Arthritis, confirm all of the associated symptoms and affecting your joints.  Our treatment will include improving the mobility, restoring the use of the affected joint(s), increasing strength to support the joint, and maintaining the endurance to perform your daily activities.  A plan will be developed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and range of motion.  We do offer Aqua Therapy in our pool that has proven benefits for patients suffering from all types of Arthritis pain.  We keep our pool warm and above 90 degrees for comfort and receiving the maximum benefits during therapy.  A Self-Propelled underwater treadmill can be utilized to take pressure off your joints while walking.

Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries

Injuries from a motor vehicle collision can cause lingering pain for months or years.  Sometimes these injuries can cause ligament damage in your spine and develop chronic arthritis.  If not treated early or appropriately and diagnosed accurately disabling conditions can develop.  Our providers and therapist will focus on your injury and develop a treatment plan to improve your pain and symptoms.   With extensive training and knowledge in whiplash collisions acceleration/deceleration injuries we dedicate our focus on treating your condition and providing ongoing education about your condition to improve your daily activities and lifestyle.

Migraines and Headaches

An individual’s lifestyle can become debilitating from Migraines and/or daily Headaches.  At Horizon we make it a priority to diagnose the cause of your headache condition.  Although this is one of the most difficult conditions to trace the cause, our physician will review your case and upon examination determine the proper diagnostic or imaging test to develop a plan to improve and treat your headaches providing pain relief and increase in your quality of life.

Neuropathy and Nerve Pain

Nerve pain and Neuropathy conditions can create difficulty focusing on daily activities.  Nerve pain can develop into some of the most excruciating pain symptoms your body can experience.  Nerve pain can be caused from spinal nerve root impingement, inflammation of the nerve, diabetic neuropathy, or injuries involving a nerve tract.  Our focus on your nerve pain is to diagnose the cause and develop a treatment program to reduce or eradicate the pain.  An MRI or Nerve conduction study may be necessary to determine details about your condition prior to implementing a treatment program.

Lymphedema

We provide a unique treatment option for patients suffering from lymphedema with pneumatic compression.  This is a machine that will provide a massage and squeezing effect while inducing circulation into your body from your leg or arm.  We also provide manual therapy (massaging technique) to assist with the fluid drainage.  In some instances Aqua Therapy in the pool for performing light exercises to help prepare you for everyday tasks and reducing swelling.

Vertigo

Dizziness and spinning sensations can cause severe interference with your daily life.  An examination by our physician and accurate diagnosis of the cause of your vertigo.  A disorder of the crystals in the cochlea of the ear, or severe misalignments in the cervical spine, or dysfunction of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) can cause vertigo symptoms.  Special techniques are used to position the head and provide a therapeutic relief to your symptoms.

Difficulty Walking

Whether you are having difficulty with walking from Age related Arthritis, Neurological Disease, A Stroke, Disc Herniation, Nerve Pain/Injury, or a Disabling condition we have several methods to help assist you with walking and retraining your gait.  Our SoloStep Harness System is an unweighting treatment protocol to take to pressure off you legs and spine to improve your ability to move and walk.  In some cases, Aqua Therapy in the pool performing exercises may be necessary to advance you to the next phases of treatment.  Strengthening exercises and Stair Training will be included to improve your ability to handle different environments.
