Physical Rehabilitation

The treatment of disease, injury, or deformity by physical methods such as massage, heat treatment, and exercise rather than by drugs or surgery.  It is a branch of rehabilitative health that uses specially designed exercises and equipment to help patients regain or improve their physical abilities.  Post-Surgical Rehabilitation is the program of re-establishing joint motion, muscle strength around the joint and finally joint function. It is particularly important to understand that rehabilitation is a long process. While the surgery is performed within hours, the rehabilitation needs many months, potentially up to a year.
